Carlos Reyes is the Director of the Simulation Center at AdventHealth University (AHU) – Orlando, Florida campus. AHU’s Simulation Center opened in 2014. Carlos was appointed as the first Director of AHU’s Simulation Center in 2017. Carlos and AHU’s simulation team work with multiple health care disciplines in the academic setting to plan and execute simulations for programs within AHU, and with outside entities affiliated with the AdventHealth System. In his current role, Carlos and the team he leads have significantly increased the number of programs that participate in simulation, as well as the total number of simulations executed. In addition, Carlos has brought significant upgrades to AHU’s Simulation Center based on feedback received from stakeholders with strong administrative support. Carlos is a registered nurse, as well as an emergency medical technician and has worked in the fields of emergency, psychiatric, and geriatric medicine, as well as nursing administration and academia. Carlos also served as a volunteer Firefighter/EMT for the City of Apopka, Florida for 10 years. Carlos earned his EMT from Seminole State College as well as his Associate degree in nursing. He also earned a Master’s degree in nursing from American Sentinel University and is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Health Care Administration, specializing in Health Care Quality and Data Analytics, from Capella University.
