Dr. Christopher Litten earned a B.A. in English and secondary education from Columbia Union College in 1975. He earned an M.A. in Literature, with emphasis in Medieval and Renaissance literature and American literature from the University of Maryland in 1980. Dr. Litten taught writing, literature, and fine arts classes at Columbia Union College from 1980-1999. He also directed the Washington Experience program, English in Washington, co-directed the COOP department, and chaired English and Modern Languages department, and the Education department. Dr. Litten earned a Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction and rhetoric from the University of Maryland in 1989. He began teaching at ADU in 1999. He currently teaches writing, literature, and fine art classes. He volunteers as a docent at the Orlando Museum of Art (OMA). He combines his expertise in art with collaboration with ADU professors and the development of curriculum development that includes tours of the OMA and a focus on the enhancement of observation and empathetic skills.
