Professor Gloria E. Gonzalez is an Assistant Professor at the Nursing Department at Adventist University of Health Sciences. She earned her MSN in Education from Western Governors University, her MS in Education and Research from Saint Thomas University and has studied Health Care Administration at Industrial University of Santander in her native Colombia. Currently, she is the Nursing Learning Center Coordinator and co teaches the Introduction to Professional Nursing Course. Professor Gonzalez has over twenty-eight years of nursing experience in Pediatric, Medical, Surgical areas and education. She worked at Florida Hospital for Children where she won the Exemplary Professional Practice Award in 2012.
She joined ADU as a Pediatric clinical instructor since 2008. In her role at the Nursing Lab, she started the In-service program, CERNER documentation, Phlebotomy for adult and children sessions, and the Skills Fair program for ADU nursing students and Adventist International Student visitors. For the past two years, she served Sigma Theta Tau Chi Upsilon Chapter as the organization’s treasurer. She is very passionate about teaching hands-on experiences to promote the student’s confidence to maximize their potential in providing safety and high standards of care.
