Dr. Tolosa earned an Associate Degree in Nursing from the School of Nursing at Caracas Medical Center in his birthplace Caracas, Venezuela in 1997. After several years working in the pre-hospital emergency medicine field as registered nurse/paramedic and firefighter, he earned a Bachelor in Nursing Science from Interamerican University of Puerto Rico in 2001. He also completed his Master in Science of Anesthesia at the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico in 2003 and a Doctor in Nurse Anesthesia Practice from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2010. Dr. Tolosa has provided nurse anesthesia care in a variety of settings, to include highly independent Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA) practice as well as in the anesthesia care team model. His passionate work is focused towards increasing patient safety and situational awareness in anesthesia using high fidelity human patient simulation to help student nurse anesthetists and CRNAs to achieve this goal. Dr. Tolosa has been a full time assistant professor in the Nurse Anesthesia Program at ADU since 2011 & an independent contractor as a CRNA for the JLR/USAP Anesthesia Group providing anesthesia care for patients within the Florida Hospital system. Dr. Tolosa live in Orange County with the love of his life Amanda, their son Keegan, Dr. Tolosa’s son Yariel and Amanda’s daughter Kylie.
