Your Path to Clinical Ministry

Admission to the Master of Arts in Clinical Ministry is designed for students who are ready to develop practical skills for ministry in clinical settings. This program seeks applicants committed to spiritual care and professional growth, offering a clear pathway for those called to serve in hospitals, hospices and other care environments.

Admissions Requirements

Prospective students must meet the following criteria:

  • Present a minimum undergraduate or graduate cumulative grade point average of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale from the degree-granting institution 
  • Present an updated résumé
  • Complete a personal essay or goal statement outlining career goals, the applicant’s desire to attend a faith-based institution (specifically AdventHealth University), and an explanation of the applicant’s call to pastoral ministry in a specialized context
  • Submit two reference letters:
    • One must be from a pastor or faith community leader
    • The second may be from one of the following:
      • Someone familiar with the applicant’s academic performance (e.g., teacher or advisor)
      • Someone familiar with the applicant’s work ethic or experience (e.g., employer, supervisor, or work colleague)
      • Someone who has known the applicant for more than five years (e.g., friend or church member)
  • Successfully complete the personal interview
