Creating a Safe and Memorable Graduation

Graduation is an important milestone in a student's journey. We want to make this event special for you, your family and friends. To help ensure a memorable experience for students and guests, please adhere to the following safety and conduct guidelines.

Keeping Each Other Safe

If anyone in your party is exhibiting any flu-like symptoms (e.g., but not limited to fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestions, runny nose, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea),  please do not attend the event and instead the celebration instead by viewing the livestream event on AHU's Youtube Channel.

Conduct

Day of Ceremony

  • Please arrive at First Baptist Orlando between 8:30 am and 9:30 am to allow sufficient time to complete the check-in procedures and be ushered to your seats before the start of the ceremony.
  • The entrance doors to the sanctuary will close 10 minutes before the ceremony begins.
  • If you and your guests arrive beyond your designated arrival window, entry to the graduation ceremony will be denied.
  • When you arrive, park, and proceed with your guests to your respective check-in stations. Graduates will check-in at Faith Hall. Guests will check-in at Sanctuary.
  • Your ticket must be scanned at the check-in station to be granted entry to the event.
  • Once your tickets have been scanned, Graduates please proceed directly to Faith Hall and line up for the processional, Guests please proceed to the lobby to be seated.
  • Once you enter the church, please proceed to the sanctuary doors, an usher will seat you. Please note that guests will not be allowed to save seats. 
  • For the safety of all guests, please remain in your assigned seats during the duration of the ceremony.
  • Please listen carefully to the instructions given at the close of the program to ensure a safe exit from the ceremony.
  • After the ceremony you and your guests will be ushered out by section to allow for a safe and quick exit.

Reminders

First Baptist Orlando is not only our venue for graduation but first and foremost a house of worship. To ensure a smooth, enjoyable, and safe experience for all, we ask that you and your guests abide by the following:

  • Facilities will not be available for changing so please come fully dressed in your regalia.
  • To eliminate any congregation, please quickly exit the venue post-ceremony. Photos can only be taken after you have exited the venue at the end of the ceremony. Keep in mind each graduate will have a professional photograph taken as they cross the stage after collecting their diploma.
  • Smoking is not allowed in the parking lot or on church property.
  • Hand sanitizer stations will be available throughout the venue.
  • Restrooms are located in various locations of the main sanctuary and Faith Hall.  Please follow signs or ask an event staff member.
  • For the safety of the graduates, we request that you refrain from using the facilities when graduates receive their degrees.
  • Graduation is being professionally filmed so please remain quiet during the ceremony and silence all phones and electronic devices. Avoid loud cat calls or noise makers.
  • A professional photo will be taken of each graduate, so please do not use flash photography near the official photographer to ensure the graduate will have a high-quality lasting memory.
  • Please follow instructions given at the close of the program to ensure a safe exit from the ceremony.
  • Everyone, please remain seated, there will be staggered exiting through designated doors. When signaled, graduates and guests must exit as directed to the outside of the building. Please follow posted signs for a safe exit.
  • Our event staff are here to assist, so if you need assistance, please signal to the event staff. Please follow the directions of the event staff at all times.

Flash Photography

Flash photography should not be used in the vicinity of the University photographer as this could negatively affect the official photo of the graduate.
