Pinning Ceremony
Symbolism of the BSN Nursing Pin
The Pinning Ceremony could be called the "Entrance into Practice Ceremony". It is a symbolic ritual that represents a rite of passage into a profession committed to caring above and beyond limits set by other disciplines. The nursing pin represents nursing excellence and service to others. The pin identifies the source of the nurse’s education, it also indicates to the patient, and others, that the nurse has successfully completed a particular nursing program.
