Description:

This course is an introduction to the concepts of medical law and ethics for health care professionals. Topics include criminal and civil acts, contracts, negligence, and ethical concepts as they relate to the medical profession. Consent forms, patient rights, HIPAA, confidentiality, patient records and other health care legislative rulings are discussed.

Notes:
This is a required course that must be successfully completed with a 78% or better to be awarded credit toward Advanced Medical Assistant degree.
