| Description: | The purpose of this course is for students to explore the holistic care of healthy women during the preconception timeframe through uncomplicated pregnancy. Students will learn how to assess normalcy, maternal/fetal well-being, determine gestational age, advance health promotion, provide anticipatory guidance, dismantle systemic racism, and discuss application of health equity during pregnancy. Whole person models of gynecologic/antenatal midwifery care will be explored in the ambulatory setting. This is a three (3) credit hour course and students are expected to complete forty-five (45) clock hours. |
