| Description: | This course is designed to provide students with an understanding of the occupational therapy process in physical disabilities resulting from illness, disabling conditions, or injury. Also covered are the history and theory of OT in a physical disabilities setting; the psychosocial aspects of physical disability; and documentation, reimbursement, and management of OT services in a variety of physical dysfunction treatment settings. Students are provided with extensive hands-on labs to experience and gain competency in a variety of evaluation and treatment techniques. |
