Biography

Dr. Barbara Nelson a Professor and the Vice Chair of the GBSN Nursing Program at the ADU Denver site. She is a native of Colorado and completed her BSN at the University of Colorado, MSN at UNLV, Las Vegas and Doctorate and UNC in Greeley, CO. Her clinical practice included PACU, OR, and administrative management of Staff Development. Her areas of teaching responsibilities presently include research/evidence-based practice, leadership and management, health care promotion, professional issues and practicum. Barbara’s research interests include spiritual care of patients, and nursing leadership and spirituality Her duties also include coordinating the nursing program between the main campus and the Denver site, working with faculty and outside agencies to insure successful delivery of curriculum and quality clinical experiences. Barbara enjoys working with students, faculty and the community to bring healthcare as ministry to those touched by the ADU nursing program in the Denver Metro area.
