Professor Kumar has been working at AHU since 2024. Her degrees include a Bachelor of Nursing from the State University of New York at Buffalo and a Master of Science in Nursing from St. John Fisher University (Clinical Nurse Specialist Track in Adult and Geriatric Acute Care). Currently, she serves as the Clinical Coordinator for the ASN Program. She has previously taught Health Assessment, Fundamentals, Medical Surgical I, Medical Surgical II, and Mental Health. She serves on the Adjunct and Clinical Scholar Mentoring Committee. Her research interests include fall prevention, the correlation between traumatic injury and mental health, and best-fit models for clinical placement. She is an adult health nurse and has worked in a variety of adult health areas, including adult health float pool, post-anesthesia care, critical care, and post-partum nursing. Professor Kumar has served in a variety of volunteer roles within Orange County Public Schools.
