Biography

Chonnapat Finkbeiner MT(AAB) M(ASCP)CM is a Clinical Laboratory Scientist III at AdventHealth and an Adjunct Instructor of Parasitology and Mycology at AdventHealth University. She brings 17 years of laboratory experience, including ten years in medical microbiology and seven years in food microbiology, along with extensive expertise in microbiology and molecular diagnostics such as Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) and qPCR. She holds board certifications as M(ASCP) and MT(AAB) and is an active member of the American Society for Microbiology (ASM).

Her recent accomplishments include leading the 2024 AdventHealth hospital project, “Bringing Mold into the 20th Century by Next-Generation Gene Sequencing,” which modernized fungal identification through advanced molecular methods. In addition to her clinical work, Chonnapat teaches at Eastern Florida State College and AdventHealth University, where she fosters curiosity, collaboration, and critical thinking. By integrating modern molecular technologies such as NGS into her courses, she equips future Medical Laboratory Scientists with the skills needed to meet the evolving challenges and innovations of today’s clinical laboratories.
