Dr. Painter teaches in the Master of Occupational Therapy program at AHU. She recently earned her Post-Professional Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from Chatham University. She teaches Neuroscience Applications for OT, Pediatrics, and Medical Conditions courses in the program. Dr. Painter completed her doctoral project on clinical reasoning development in Gen Z MOT students in 2024 and continues to be interested in advancing her research in this area. She worked in multiple settings before moving to academia, including outpatient pediatrics. Prior to transitioning into her current academic role, she also worked at AdventHealth Orlando, providing acute care occupational therapy services for adults on the Neurology, Oncology, General Surgery, and Behavioral Health units, as well as the Pediatric and Neonatal Intensive Care units.
