Biography

Ms. Painter is an instructor in the Master’s of Occupational Therapy program. Her roles include Academic Fieldwork Coordinator, teaching Applied Kinesiology and Neuroscience Applications for OT courses, and supervising graduate scholarship projects. Her research interests include neurorehabilitation and pediatrics. She graduated from Barry University in 2015 with a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy. She has plans to pursue a doctoral degree. Ms. Painter has worked in outpatient pediatrics where she gained extended training in sensory-based feeding approaches for problem feeders. Prior to transitioning into her current academic role, she worked at AdventHealth – Orlando providing acute care occupational therapy services for adults on the Neurology, Oncology, General Surgery, and Behavioral Health units as well as Pediatrics and Neonatal Intensive Care units.
