Biography

Dr. Elisha Coppens, DNAP, serves as Adjunct Faculty for our Doctor of Nursing Anesthesia Practice program. She also serves as a Nurse Anesthetist at a plastic surgery center.

Dr. Coppens completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Malone University in Canton, Ohio, and worked as a registered nurse in the cardiac intensive care unit at Metrohealth Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. She obtained her Master of Science in Nurse Anesthesia degree at the University of New England. 

Dr. Coppens worked in various hospitals throughout Maine, serving as a clinical preceptor for Student Registered Nurse Anesthetists and as a clinical coordinator for an affiliated institution. She earned her Doctorate in Nurse Anesthesia Practice and worked as adjunct and full-time faculty and administrator at the University of New England.

Dr. Coppens’ doctoral scholarly project was published in the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology Journal in April 2021. Additionally, she received her Master of Science in Pharmacy degree from the University of Florida and her Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator Certificate.
