Professor Erica Guilford is an experienced Nurse Educator and Neonatal Nurse Practitioner currently serving as a faculty member at Advent Health University Tampa. With over a decade of clinical experience serving in the role of Registered Nurse, Travel Nurse, and Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, Professor Guilford has provided compassionate, evidence-based care in a variety of healthcare settings across the country, including Washington, D.C., Jacksonville, Florida, Houston, Texas, Atlanta, Georgia and Tampa, Florida.
Professor Guilford holds a Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization in Neonatology from Emory University and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree, where her scholarly focus is on the use of reflective practice to enhance critical thinking skills and self-efficacy in prelicensure nursing students. She also earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Florida State University.
Professor Guilford has served in diverse academic roles, including leading specialty courses across multiple campuses, teaching in ASN, BSN, and LPN programs, and designing interactive and engaging educational strategies.
Her academic interests include nursing education, reflective learning, student engagement, curriculum development, and interprofessional collaboration. She is passionate about preparing the next generation of nurses to think critically and deliver safe, culturally competent care.
