About Julie Cook, PhD

In Dr. Julie Cook's role as an assistant professor of English, she teaches Introduction to Public Speaking, English Composition I and II, and Technical Writing. She earned her BS in Social Studies from Pacific Union College and her MA in English from La Sierra University. She started teaching in 2004, first abroad in Taiwan and Thailand, and then she came to AHU in 2010. Her teaching at AHU has focused on getting students actively engaged in learning. In 2012, she was awarded Adventist University’s Core Value Merit Award: Excellence. Her research interests are in the relationship between healthcare provider burnout and communication.
