Dr. Martins has extensive international experience in mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, sustainable energy systems, and advanced modeling of physical systems. He currently serves as Chair of the Department of Biomedical Sciences and Technology at AdventHealth University, where he provides strategic leadership in curriculum development, accreditation, faculty engagement, and student success.
His prior academic appointments include roles as Assistant and Adjunct Professor of Physics, as well as Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering, reflecting a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, mentorship, and academic service. Dr. Martins has broad international teaching experience at both undergraduate and graduate levels courses, and has supervised students in engineering, physics, and physiotherapy in the completion of master’s theses and doctoral dissertations.
He maintains a strong record of scholarly activity, including 2 patents, 3 book chapters, and 27 peer-reviewed publications. His work demonstrates sustained interdisciplinary collaboration and significant institutional service, including editorial responsibilities, peer review contributions, and leadership in research initiatives and academic events.
