Biography

Laura Fero, PhD, MSN, RN, joined Advent Health University on August 7, 2023. Prior to this, she most recently served as the dean of nursing at St. Catherine University in St. Paul, MN. A Wisconsin native, Fero is a 1993 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she earned her BSN. She subsequently earned her MSN from the University of Phoenix in Executive Nursing Leadership and a PhD in Nursing from the University of Pittsburgh in 2009.

Dean Fero provides leadership across all nursing programs within the Department of Nursing, setting a strategy for sustainable growth of the high-quality, outcome-driven standards for which Advent Health nursing programs are known. Her research interests and passions include nursing leadership, simulation-based performance, and the use of critical thinking in evidence-based research for quality improvement. Prior to her academic career, Fero held numerous leadership positions in the care delivery sector.
