Mariana Parente joined AdventHealth University as nursing faculty in June 2025. She is an AHU alumna, having earned her Associate of Science in Nursing in 2010 and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2013. She is currently completing her Master of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner track, with expected graduation in August 2026. Mariana’s nursing experience includes five years at AdventHealth on the Neuro Medical Progressive Care Unit, followed by nine years in hospice care. She has a long-standing passion for nursing education and student success as she worked as a nursing tutor at AHU during her initial nursing studies from 2008–2010 and served as a preceptor for graduate nurses in both the hospital and hospice settings. Her clinical background cultivated strong expertise in neuro-progressive illness management, palliative care, symptom management, and holistic patient advocacy. She now enjoys creating innovative simulation experiences and hands-on skills rotations in the AHU Nursing Skills Lab and is committed to supporting students in developing clinical confidence, compassionate care, and critical-thinking skills.
