Biography

Dr. Sara Austin is an Associate Professor of Writing and Rhetoric in the Department of Health Humanities and Social Sciences. She received her BA in Spanish for Translation and MA in English from Andrews University. She completed her PhD in Rhetoric and Writing from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio. At AHU, Dr. Austin teaches a variety of writing courses and directs Writing Across the Curriculum. Her research areas include writing transfer, feminist pedagogy, and contract grading. She has appeared in Rhetoric Society Quarterly, Dynamic Activities for First Year Writing, What Graduate Students Do, College English Association Forum and Teaching Graphic Novels in the English Classroom.
