Biography

Shirley Flores has been a nursing faculty at AHU since 2021. She was an adjunct and a nursing faculty in the past. Her degrees include a BSN- University of Tennessee (Chattanooga), MSN- University of Phoenix (Orlando), and DNP (candidate) -Southern Adventist University- Lifestyle Therapeutics specialty. Currently, she teaches Community Health Nursing, Nursing Practicum, and Health Promotion and Wellness for the BSN Program. She serves on a variety of committees in the Department of Nursing, as well as the University, Hope Clinic Steering Committee. Her research interests include lifestyle, health promotion, and health prevention. She is an emergency room nurse and worked in various emergency rooms in the community. She has also worked in the Progressive Care Unit as well as the Preoperative Unit. She continues to support the institution as a volunteer in local community events and international mission trips.
