Susan Hudspeth,BS, MLS(ASCP) is a Clinical Laboratory Scientist III in the Transfusion Service at AdventHealth Orlando. She received her B.S. in Clinical Laboratory Science from East Carolina University. With over 25 years of experience in the clinical laboratory, she has extensive knowledge with all facets of transfusion medicine. Throughout the years, she has had the opportunity to both educate and advocate for the field of clinical laboratory science in her roles as lab supervisor, lab educator, and nursing liaison. She was responsible for education and presentation of Immunohematology Resident Rounds at Duke University Hospital. Susan was also responsible for maintaining and presenting system wide blood utilization for the Orlando Health Blood Utilization Committee. She has represented the lab on multiple nursing committees within the hospital. She has also been involved with the clinical education of students from several colleges and universities clinical laboratory programs in Central Florida.
Susan is board certified with ASCP and currently holds a Florida Clinical Laboratory Supervisor license. She is the recipient of the Orlando Health “Ancillary Excellence Award” for outstanding job performance. She has been at AdventHealth Orlando since 2016 and joined AdventHealth University in 2026 as an adjunct professor in Blood Bank.
