Biography

Victor D. Pareja, DNP, CRNA, APRN, CHSE is an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at AdventHealth University. He obtained an M.S. in Anesthesiology from Barry University and a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from the University of Central Florida. He is a Russell G. Hamilton Scholar and Graduate Fellow at Vanderbilt University where he is currently pursuing a Ph.D. with emphasis on genomics and its influence on chronic pain.

Dr. Pareja practices clinically in the Greater Orlando area as staff CRNA and as an independent contractor. His specialties include orthopedics, vascular surgeries, and neuraxial and regional anesthesia. He has participated in anesthesia healthcare mission trips to Central America, most recently to Guatemala in 2023.
Prior to becoming a CRNA, Dr. Pareja obtained a M.S. in Mathematical Science from the University of Central Florida and is a former Associate Professor of Mathematics at Daytona State College where he taught courses ranging from algebra to calculus and statistics for over a decade. Dr. Pareja is a certified healthcare simulation educator (CHSE) and works closely with anesthesia residents of all cohort years in developing clinical skills via high-fidelity simulation labs, as well as precepting in the clinical setting. Dr. Pareja is a former United States Marine. He received an Honorable Discharge after eight years of service.

His commitment to student success has been evident in his trajectory as a CRNA. He precepts SRNAs in clinical sites throughout Orlando. He was the Guiding Light Award recipient from the Florida Association of Nurse Anesthesiology (FANA) in 2021. He is a current reviewer of the International Student Journal of Nurse Anesthesia (ISJNA), and a contributor for the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NCBRNA) as a Professional Practice Analysis Reviewer in 2024. Further, he volunteers as a board member of Diversity CRNA Mentorship Program, where he is chair of the Interview Preparation committee. He travels the country to offer talks and preparation for prospective SRNAs.

Most recently, Dr. Pareja received the prestigious American Nurses Association Team Innovation Award for his work impacting a diverse population, and the Harold Stirling Vanderbilt award in 2024. 
Dr. Pareja served as Interim Assistant Program Director in 2023, and currently teaches Introduction to the Nurse Anesthesia Profession, General Principles of Anesthesiology, Adv. Pharmacology I and II, Regional Anesthesia, and contributions to other courses.
