To be eligible for the Associate of Science in Nursing program, applicants must first be admitted to AHU for General Studies and maintain a minimum 3.00 GPA in required prerequisite courses. Because the program is competitive, meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission. Before applying to the nursing program, you must complete the following:
● ATI TEAS Exam: Achieve a composite score of 62.5% or higher. All four sections of the ATI TEAS must be completed for the composite score to be valid (be sure to review the official AHU ATI TEAS re-test policy).
● Required Coursework: Complete the following prerequisite classes with a grade of "C" or higher:
- BIOL 101 Anatomy and Physiology I (with lab)
- ENGL 101 English Composition I
- MATH 103 Survey of Mathematics
- PSYC 128 Developmental Psychology
- NUTR 120 Nutrition for Healthcare
To maintain eligibility for admission into nursing courses, you may only repeat one (1) cognate course. This strict rule applies to both courses taken at AHU and all outside transfer credits.
- Application Process: Submit your nursing application and official TEAS scores through the student portal once prerequisites are completed or in progress.
