Biography

Dr. Aaron Whitley has a diverse and accomplished background in healthcare, reflecting a strong commitment to service and clinical excellence. He began his career in the U.S. Army at the age of 17 and served as a decorated combat veteran with two tours in Iraq, operating on the Quick Reaction Force along key military supply routes during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom.

Following his military service, Dr. Whitley pursued a career in healthcare, earning his Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Grand Canyon University. He gained extensive experience in Level 1 emergency and intensive care settings while also serving as a firefighter and paramedic with the Chandler Fire Department. In 2014, he joined the University of Arizona’s inaugural nurse anesthesia cohort and later earned his Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP-CRNA). He has since practiced in an independent anesthesia setting, with experience across a wide range of specialties, including pediatrics and organ procurement, and has contributed to trauma critical care efforts with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Whitley has made significant contributions to education and leadership in nurse anesthesia. He has served as Associate Program Director and interim Program Director at George Fox University’s Nurse Anesthesia Program, playing a key role in program development and COA accreditation. He has also held leadership positions with the Arizona Association of Nurse Anesthesiology, including serving as a Director and PAC Chair. Dr. Whitley is the owner of a multi-state anesthesia group and remains dedicated to advancing the profession and mentoring future anesthesia providers.
