Biography

Suha M. Abdo, MSN, has dedicated over three decades to the nursing profession, with a strong focus on midwifery, community and public health, and women's health. She began her illustrious career after earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Bethlehem University in Bethlehem. Her passion for public health and community wellness led her to pursue a Master of Science in Nursing for Community and Public Health from Birzeit University in Birzeit, Palestine. Further specializing, Suha completed a postgraduate diploma in Midwifery, an advanced nursing degree that underscored her commitment to maternal and newborn health.

Her career has been marked by significant contributions to various national initiatives, notably programs run by the World Health Organization and UNICEF. These include Baby-Friendly initiatives and campaigns promoting natural labor, highlighting her dedication to improving healthcare standards and policies. For 15 years, Suha worked as a nurse midwife, blending practical care with educational roles, including serving as an instructor for nursing students in both classroom and clinical settings.

Relocating to the United States brought a new chapter in Suha's career. She has worked in labor and delivery for over 15 years, bringing her invaluable experience and knowledge to American healthcare institutions. Suha is a proud member of the AWHONN Central Florida Division, where she continues to contribute to the nursing community.

In recent years, Suha has shifted her focus towards education, joining Advent Health University as an adjunct instructor before becoming a full-time instructor at the start of 2024. In her teaching role, she is passionate about instructing both nursing and clinical courses, with a special interest in women's health and assisting families during childbearing events.

Throughout her career, Suha M. Abdo, MSN, has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the health and well-being of women and families. Her extensive experience in nursing, midwifery, and education has not only benefited her patients but also the next generation of nurses, ensuring her legacy will impact the field for years to come.
