Dr. Veon Stewart was born in Westmoreland, Jamaica. She came to the USA in 1999 to complete graduate studies in mathematics education at Florida State University where she obtained her masters and doctoral Degrees in Mathematics Education. She also holds a bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Mathematics from Northern Caribbean University, formerly West Indies College in Jamaica. She has taught mathematics at the middle and high school level for years and worked as Adjunct Professors at Miami-Dade College, Nova-Southeastern and Southern Adventist University before taking a fulltime job at Adventist University of Health Sciences in 2014. She currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Mathematics, specializing in algebra and statistics. Dr. Stewart is a member of the American Mathematics Association of Teachers of Two-year Colleges (AMATYC) and National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM).
